Great Blue Herons Feeding Chicks, 5/16/17, Lyons-Cutler Reservation - Sudbury

The first video (below) shows great blue herons feeding their chicks. In case you are squeamish, be warned that the video shows herons regurgitating partially eaten fish and then reswallowing what the chicks don't eat. The chicks seem to be much like human siblings, one minute they are getting along fine and the next minute they are trying to kill each other.

Eastern Screech Owl and Common Grackles, 5/11/17, Framingham
Last year there was a common grackle's nest in the same tree hole the screech owl is using this year. Today there were several grackles flying back and forth near the tree hole with the owl in it. The video below shows the grackles perched nearby.

The videos below show great blue herons flying carrying twigs, landing on their nests, and then giving the twigs to their mates who place them in the nest. The first video is short and has the highlights in slow motion. The second video is the full version.
